Once you buy the product, you need to take care of it so you don't end up heading back to the store for a second purchase. It's vital to know how to maintain the accessory. Check out the tips that will be of assistance!

1. Keep it dry

For the most part, water can cause damage to mirrors, as such, it is a good idea to keep them dry at all times. In the case that the product you opt for is going to be placed somewhere damp or moisture prone, then you need to add sealants to the list while purchasing. You can find them in most hardware stores, which goes a long way to guard against any damage.

2. Clean it

A dirty mirror is not a flattering fixture, and it can go a long way to ruin the style or design you are going for. Here are a few steps to help you clean without leaving streaks or damaging them.

Fold a clean cloth into quarters and dampen one side with water. You can equally use glass cleaner, but water is the safer option since it is suited to all mirrors.

Ensure you start with one side of the cloth, then move it in a zigzag motion. Do this from the top to the bottom until you have cleaned the entire length.

Position yourself at a 45-degree angle to the mirror to properly check for any streaks or spots you missed. Then wipe those areas using the dry side of the cloth, they will come right off.

Some mirrors will come with their own specific care instructions.

3. Do not place it too close to a door

If your mirror is in the way of the door, or even behind it, then you are prone to having an accident. To ensure that it stays safe from any impact, ensure there is enough space to keep it a safe distance away from any doors in your house.

4. Be careful when moving it around

Besides the initial moment you move the mirror into the home, you may decide to redecorate once in a while. If you must move it, use gloves and move with care to ensure that you do not scratch, scuff, or break it. If it is heavy-duty, simply leave it to the professionals by hiring some movers.
